The Traveling Hungryboy

The River Valley outlet of 119 Fish Soup didn't last very long, and it's a pity since they really were one of the better ones around with their super fresh fish. In its place now is this prawn noodle shop, whose menu oddly emphasized more terrestrial choices over shellfish. The battered appearance of that shrimp in the foreground only further underscored their priorities, even if admittedly it was also a function of me getting the cheapest S$5 (US$3.60) bowl. But there definitely was lots of crackling, and that chili powder was pretty potent too, helping me to finish the bowl despite the mushy noodles. Next time I'll opt for rice noodles and hope that the prawn quality improves if I upgrade one dollar.
