Popiah

This small chain of snack stalls is listed in the Michelin Guide for its popiah, which I don't eat too much given how sweet and garlicky it can be. But this was nice in that it contained all sorts of contrasting textures in there, ranging from the warm soft turnip strips to the light and deliciately thin wrapper, not to mention the crunchy fried bits inside.

I also ordered some of their kueh pie tee to go with it. Somehow it was only at that point that I realized that the dish consists of many of the same ingredients, except of course that they are put inside little hard shelled cups instead of that thin wrapper. I won't likely get these again, but they were all dirt cheap either way, with each item going for around S$3 (US$2).
