The Traveling Hungryboy

That big Thai/Vietnamese supermarket from Golden Mile has finally opened at Aperia Mall, and there are some food stalls alongside it, with a fried banana and yam chip place called Talad Thai Banana in particular getting a lot of attention with its glass corner visibility and long lines as people wait for them to be fried in batches. They were pretty good when hot from the fryer though, especially with those gooey sweet bananas sitting inside that crispy greasy batter.



There were a few other stalls too, like one called Thai Yum Mee (get it?) doing things like those Chiang Rai noodles above, as well as salads and skewers. The pork topping on those noodles carried a good hit of ginger, and the chili was more potent than it looked, but I preferred the Yaowarat-style buns from the Yung Yung stall next to it, as they were slathered in salty butter. There was no seating available at any of these stalls, but Folks Collective is opening up soon with a proper dining area.
