Everything I found online suggested that this small chain was *the* place to get mapo doufu in Chengdu. So we made it out here for lunch, and the mapo doufu indeed was the salty, spicy, and greasy thing that I was hoping to get (and yes, it was just as in-your-face as Chen Kentaro's Mapo Tofu back home).
We also got some red oil wontons, which were surprisingly huge, with lots of doughy skin and a slice of meat (rather than minced). It wasn't that spicy, but was interesting to try, just like their ganbian sijidou, which wasn't very crunchy nor spicy, but was nicely salted with what I believe were preserved olives or something.
