The Traveling Hungryboy

I didn't really get much of a dinner tonight, and needed some salty carbs and soup to sit in my belly before going home. This bak chor mee stall seemed to fit the bill (500 Clemenceau Avenue North #01-10).

I wasn't expecting much given that it was a small chain that was open 24 hours and placed right at the front entrance of touristy Newton Food Centre, of all places. So I was pleasantly surprised to find that they didn't overcook the noodles here, keeping them nice and firm. I liked how their mee pok noodles were flatter than most other stalls too.

Their "XO sauce" was a bit sweet though, so next time I need to remember to give it at least two big doses of that vinegar in the pump-action bottle at the stall to cover up the sweetness.
