As the name suggests, this is a wood-clad oyster place (920 El Camino Real, 650-394-4534), where I was able to pull up a seat at the bar for a dozen local oysters and beer. Actually, only the briny kumamotos at the top were local, with the meaty Fanny Bays from BC next to them and potent kumiais from Baja at the bottom. My favorite were actually the least local ones: the beausoleils from New Brunswick on the left, as they were almost buttery sweet. But I was happy to gobble them all down. Next time I should try their grilled oysters.
