The Traveling Hungryboy

One very puzzling thing about this small local chain down here in San Diego is that there was no fresh salsa bar (not that I could see, anyway). It was all bottled stuff from El Yucateco and the like. But in the end, that might not have been a bad thing, as the taste of the spicy grilled shrimp and battered fish in my tacos really shone through without being covered up by anything, and I was very happy with it. They fried these to order and they came out piping hot without overdoing the batter. X-berto's-style this was not; this was actually some of the closest I've had to a proper Ensenada fish taco on this side of the border.
