It seems that this place (380 Jalan Besar #01-09, 6935-3072) was opened by a former Eng's chef, which explains all of the similarities, in particular the potent chili sauce in the upper left corner. Now, I don't eat Eng's enough to make a proper comparison, but these noodles were chewier and tastier than I was expecting them to be. But it also wasn't so unique that I won't make an effort to go back.
