The Traveling Hungryboy

Travelling Adventour

boar lardo + ramps + smoked mustard + crostini

I'm really surprised that there weren't more customers in this place (96 Tecumseth Street, 647-352-6000). I nearly thought it was closed when I arrived, only to find that there were a few diners inside. And the food is good too; they only use local ingredients from Ontario, and are rather playful with their menu, like the boar lardo crostini above, or a charred endive dish laced with smoked beef fat and some kind of sweet ash meringue. I happily gobbled down everything that I ordered, including a rainbow trout and some extremely tender sliced beef hearts. The only thing that I wasn't huge on was the sticky toffee pudding, which was extremely sweet (perhaps more than gulab jamun). But I was never much of a dessert person anyway.
